America on Memorial Day
May 2002

this is my niece america...i just dig how the walkway and the grass play in this photo. she's quite proud of the fact that she is missing teeth...and i am sure this picture will haunt her in the years to come.

Rose Garden
Julia Davis Park
Boise, Idaho

i know only like two people read this journal, but i decided i will begin to update it more regularly with my wanna-be photography. comments are welcome as hell because i so get delusional about what i think looks good and what i think looks dull. this photo, a typical boring flower shot, was an accident, but it turned out so lovely that i really like it. i was taking some photos of my friend lacy in the rose garden behind the boise art museum and she told me i should take a picture of this "perfect rose." i hate pretty rose photos, but i took it anyway and it turned out beautifuly....the full-size image (2048 x 1536 pixels) is much more breathtaking in its detail of course.

these are some photos that were taken in june 2001 during the Boise River Festival. the first two being of the "nite-glow," where they light up hot air balloons at sunset. the second one, from farther away was taken from my apartment, making the park look like it was on fire. also from that evening, the third photo, "bluegrass" is interesting to me just because i was mesmerized by how dark of a blue the sky was. it was so brilliantly blue that i could see the color reflected in the blades of grass. its simple, but i often use it as my computer wallpaper because its sort of calming in an odd way.
